Real estate is about more than buying and selling homes — it's about building community. For the August family, community has always been at the heart of everything we do. That's why we have woven philanthropy directly into our business model.
With every home you buy or sell with August Group, 10% of net proceeds is donated back into our community — and you get to choose where it goes.
Achieving the ImpossibleFounded in 2015 in memory of Gary August, the August Family Foundation began with an ambitious goal: raise $1,000,000 over five years for local charities. The August family — Matt, Michelle, Brian, and Irene — created this vision unanimously, inspired by the outpouring of love their community showed when Gary passed.
With a deep connection spanning over 75 years in the Okanagan, the Augusts felt it was time to return the support and respect they had received. What started as a single fundraiser has grown into a movement that has raised over $4.7 million — nearly five times the original goal.
"It's not what you have in life, it's the people in it that make the difference. Our focus is to help charities within the Okanagan who have touched locals in the valley."

43+ Years Serving the Okanagan
Compassionate end-of-life care
The COHA August Centre stands as a testament to the August family's commitment to compassionate care. When Gary August was diagnosed with a terminal illness, the Central Okanagan Hospice Association provided extraordinary care — not as a job, but as a passion. The experience left a profound impact on the entire August family.
In 2018, the August Family Foundation donated $221,000 to renovate a new space that would integrate all of COHA's community outreach programs and administration in a welcoming, warm, and inviting environment. On June 7, 2018, the COHA Board of Directors held a ribbon cutting ceremony, officially naming it the COHA August Centre in recognition of the family's generosity.
Today, the COHA August Centre serves as a vital community resource, welcoming hundreds of individuals each month who need compassionate support through some of life's most difficult moments. For over 43 years, COHA has walked alongside individuals and families, offering emotional, practical, and spiritual support.
"The organization took unbelievable care of one of our own, Uncle Gary. The way that they cared for him felt as though it wasn't their job — it was their passion."

Founded by Matt August in 2016, the Okanagan Dream Rally pairs children facing difficult challenges with exotic supercar drivers for an unforgettable day through the stunning Okanagan Valley. What started as a small charity drive has grown into the largest exotic car rally in Western Canada, with over 200 supercars participating and raising over $2.4 million for local charities. Each child gets to ride in a dream car — Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, Porsche — while raising critical funds for organizations like Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon and KGH Foundation.

Every December, August Motorcars transforms its Kelowna showroom into a winter wonderland for the annual Cars & Toys charity toy drive. Now in its 10th year, this beloved community event brings together families, car enthusiasts, and Santa Claus himself — who has arrived by helicopter and fire truck — for an afternoon of holiday magic. Thousands of toys are collected and distributed to Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon, Mamas for Mamas, JoeAnna's House, and other local organizations ensuring every child in the Okanagan has a gift under the tree.
Every commission, every event, every effort — directed toward organizations making a real difference in the Okanagan and beyond. These are the partners who turn our donations into action.

Building healthy communities by providing programs and services that support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility across the Okanagan.

Providing a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment in Vancouver.

Together we change lives — funding life-saving equipment, programs, and facilities at Kelowna General Hospital through the Vision 2035 campaign.

Better together — a warm, welcoming home-away-from-home for patients and families who must travel to Kelowna for medical care.

Compassionate care, comfort, and support for those who are dying or grieving in our community. Home of the COHA August Centre.
